Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 July 2026

Welcome, seeker — but first, the plain language. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are the rules for using StarMatch, a Greek-astrology web application that is free to try, with optional one-time paid unlocks, available at starmatch.pl. They form a legal agreement between you and the operator of StarMatch. Please read them before you use the service; by using StarMatch you accept them.

1. Introduction and acceptance

These Terms govern your access to and use of StarMatch (the "Service"), available at starmatch.pl. In Polish law these Terms also serve as the "regulamin świadczenia usług drogą elektroniczną" required of online-service providers.

By creating or using an account, logging in, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

These Terms are made available to you free of charge before you start using the Service, on this page, in a form that lets you read, download, reproduce and store them (for example by saving or printing this page). We recommend you keep a copy. We do not separately archive each user's individual acceptance beyond ordinary account records.

These Terms are published in English and Polish. Both versions are intended to be equivalent in substance, and each User is bound by the language version that was presented to and accepted by them. The Polish version is authoritative for Users habitually resident in Poland and is the version governing relations with Polish public authorities; for other Consumers, the version in which the contract was concluded governs. In every case, this does not deprive you of the mandatory consumer protections of your country of habitual residence (see "Governing law and jurisdiction").

2. Definitions

In these Terms:

  • "Service" or "StarMatch" means the web application available at starmatch.pl, including all of its features.
  • "Operator", "we", "us" or "our" means the provider of the Service identified in the section "Operator identity" below.
  • "User", "you" or "your" means any person who uses the Service.
  • "Consumer" means a User who is a natural person using the Service for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession.
  • "Account" means the credentials (a chosen username and password) that allow you to log in.
  • "Profile" means an astrology profile you create describing a person (a name, relation, birth date, optional birth time and birthplace) used to compute charts and compatibility.
  • "Oracle" or "Astral Oracle" means the AI chatbot feature of the Service.
  • "Content" means any data, text or information you provide to the Service, including Profiles and messages you send to the Oracle.

3. Operator identity

  • Tax identification number (NIP): 5871727423

You can reach us at the e-mail addresses above for any matter concerning the Service, including questions, requests and complaints.

4. The Service: what StarMatch is

StarMatch is a bilingual (Polish/English) web application built around Greek-inspired astrology — free to try, with optional one-time paid unlocks. It offers:

  • natal (birth) charts computed from a birth date, optional time and birthplace;
  • compatibility and synastry between people you add as Profiles;
  • numerology, a "Matrix of Destiny" and forecasts;
  • the Astral Oracle — an AI chatbot you can consult.

The Service has a free tier and two optional one-time unlocks, sold through our payment provider Stripe: (a) the StarMatch full-application unlock, which permanently opens every reading (the complete natal chart with houses and aspects, compatibility and synastry, partner and career readings, today's sky, forecasts, sky events, numerology and the Matrix of Destiny) but does not include the live Oracle; and (b) the Astral Oracle add-on, which permanently unlocks unlimited use of the live AI Oracle. The free tier includes the essence of your birth chart (for example your Sun, Moon and Ascendant on the zodiac wheel), the public reference pages, and a limited daily number of Astral Oracle questions; the exact scope of each tier is always shown in the Service. Each unlock is a single one-time payment — there are no subscriptions — and the price, stated as a gross amount, is always shown to you before you pay. There is no third-party advertising. The Service does, however, use consent-based analytics: these run only if you opt in, and you can manage your choice at any time through the cookie banner or the "Manage cookies" control. The use of cookies and analytics is governed by our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy. Before launch, we also offer an optional e-mail waitlist (see "Pre-launch e-mail waitlist").

StarMatch may be offered in stages: at times as a closed beta accessible only to invited testers, and at times with open public access and self-registration. Whichever access model is in force, features may change, be added or be removed, and the Service may be unavailable from time to time.

All readings, charts, scores and Oracle answers are provided for personal reflection and entertainment only. See the sections "The Astral Oracle and AI" and "Entertainment only — no professional advice".

5. Pre-launch e-mail waitlist

Before the public launch, the Service offers an optional e-mail waitlist so that interested people can hear about StarMatch first.

Joining the waitlist is free and entirely voluntary. To join, you submit your e-mail address, tick a consent box, and confirm your address by clicking the link in the e-mail we send you (double opt-in). We use that address to write to you about StarMatch: a welcome message, occasional news and updates, the announcement when the Service launches, and launch information such as introductory pricing or promotional offers relating to the Service. We do not use it to promote anyone else's products or services, and we do not share it for marketing purposes.

Every message we send includes an unsubscribe link that works with one click. You can withdraw at any time, at no cost — by using that link or by writing to privacy@starmatch.pl; on request we will also erase your address from our waitlist records. How we handle this data, and on what legal basis, is described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Technical requirements and prohibition of unlawful content

To use the Service you need: a device with internet access; a current version of a common web browser (for example Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge) with JavaScript and cookies enabled; and an account provided by the Operator. Some features store data in your browser's local storage, so it must not be disabled.

You must not provide or transmit through the Service any content that is unlawful, including content that infringes the rights of others, is defamatory, hateful, harassing, obscene, or otherwise contrary to law or good morals. This applies in particular to free-text you enter into the Oracle chat and to Profiles you create about other people.

We describe the cookies the Service uses in our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy. The substantive risks of using the Service, and how we conclude the contract with you electronically, are set out in the section "Electronic contracting and risk disclosures" below.

Compatibility and interoperability: the Service is designed to work in a current, standards-compliant version of a common web browser, with JavaScript, cookies and browser local storage enabled. We do not apply any digital rights management (DRM) or other technical protection measures to the Service or to your data. Your data remains interoperable and is not locked to the Service — for example, your Profiles can be exported from the app as a JSON file.

Conformity of the digital service: as the operator of a digital service, the Operator is liable for its conformity with the contract on the terms set out in the Polish Consumer Rights Act (ustawa o prawach konsumenta), in particular Article 43h and following. Your statutory rights where the Service does not conform are described further in the sections "Availability, beta nature and changes to the Service" and "Complaints".

7. Electronic contracting and risk disclosures

This section is provided to you before you conclude the agreement, as required for services supplied electronically.

How the contract is concluded: the agreement is concluded electronically when you log in to the Service with the credentials provided by the Operator and thereby accept these Terms (see "Accounts"). It is not concluded by any separate paper document.

Correcting input errors: before the agreement is concluded you can identify and correct mistakes in the data you enter. At the login screen you can re-enter your username and password before confirming. Once inside the Service, you can review and edit each field of a Profile (name, relation, birth date, optional birth time and birthplace) and you must save it for any change to take effect; until you save, nothing is stored, and you can correct or discard your entries. You can also edit or delete a saved Profile at any time.

Code of good practice: the Operator is not bound by any code of good practice (kodeks dobrych praktyk) within the meaning of the Polish Act on counteracting unfair market practices, unless expressly stated otherwise.

Substantive risks of using the Service. We set these out here so they are clear:

  • The Astral Oracle is an artificial-intelligence system, not a person, and its answers are machine-generated and may be inaccurate, incomplete or wrong (see "The Astral Oracle and AI"). The text you send to it is transmitted to a third-party AI provider to generate a reply; do not enter information you would not want processed this way.
  • Your Profiles are stored only in your browser's local storage on the device you use. This means they are not backed up by us and can be lost — for example if you clear your browser data, use private/incognito mode, switch browser or device, or lose the device. We recommend you keep your own copy of any data that matters to you (for example by exporting your Profiles to JSON).
  • As with any service used over the internet, transmission of data carries the risks ordinarily associated with internet use, such as interception or unauthorised access by third parties and malware. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, but no online service can be guaranteed to be entirely free of risk.

8. Eligibility and minimum age

The Service is intended for users aged 16 or over. This reflects the Polish digital-consent age under the GDPR.

  • If you are under 13, you may not use the Service. Under Polish law a person under 13 has no capacity to enter into this kind of agreement.
  • If you are 13 to 17 (inclusive), you may use the Service only with the consent of your parent or legal guardian; a person with limited legal capacity needs their statutory representative's consent for agreements of this kind. In addition, certain optional features that rely on consent (such as the Oracle's long-term memory) require you to be at least 16.

By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements. The Service is not directed to children under 16. If we learn that an account does not meet these requirements, we may suspend or close it.

9. Accounts

During the private beta, accounts are created by the Operator and provided to invited testers; there is no public self-registration. Logging in with the credentials you receive concludes the agreement for use of the Service on these Terms.

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity carried out under your account. Do not share your account or credentials with others. Please tell us promptly at kontakt@starmatch.pl if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation.

An account holds only a chosen username (which need not be your real name) and a securely hashed password, together with basic technical records. We do not collect your real name, e-mail address or phone number for the account itself. More detail is in the Privacy Policy.

10. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and in line with these Terms. In particular, you must not:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights, or enter unlawful content (see "Technical requirements and prohibition of unlawful content");
  • enter data about another identifiable living person (for example a partner, friend or family member) unless you are entitled to do so; you are responsible for the Profiles you create about others;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems, or interfere with their normal operation (for example through scraping, automated mass requests, overloading, reverse engineering, or circumventing security or access controls);
  • introduce malicious code, or use the Service to send spam or to harvest data;
  • misuse the Oracle, for example by trying to extract its underlying instructions, to generate unlawful or abusive content, or to overwhelm it with automated requests.

We apply reasonable, transient anti-abuse measures (such as temporarily limiting repeated failed logins). If you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, we may, for important reasons and proportionately, restrict, suspend or close your access — where practicable after asking you to stop.

11. The Astral Oracle and AI

The Astral Oracle is an artificial-intelligence chatbot, not a person. When you consult it, you are interacting with an AI system based on a large language model (an Anthropic Claude model, accessed through Google Vertex AI). We tell you this clearly so there is no doubt — you are not talking to a human medium or astrologer.

The Oracle's answers are generated by AI. They are machine-generated text and may be inaccurate, incomplete or simply wrong, and they do not represent the views of the Operator. Treat them as imaginative entertainment, not as statements of fact or advice.

To answer you, the Service sends the Oracle the context you have built in the app (such as your chart, the saved Profiles you reference, and what you type into the chat). Do not enter information you would not want processed this way, and in particular avoid entering sensitive personal data (for example about health, sexuality or beliefs). How this data is handled, and the transfer to Google, is described in the Privacy Policy. If you opt in, the Oracle can remember you between sessions; that long-term memory is optional and you can withdraw it at any time.

12. Entertainment only — no professional advice

StarMatch, including all charts, numerology, compatibility scores, forecasts, the Matrix of Destiny and the Oracle, is provided for personal reflection and entertainment only.

It is not, and must not be relied on as, professional advice of any kind — in particular medical, psychological, legal, financial, relationship or career advice. For decisions that matter, consult a qualified professional. If you are in distress or crisis, contact a doctor or local emergency services.

This disclaimer explains the nature of the Service. It does not, and is not intended to, exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including our liability towards Consumers under mandatory law and any liability for personal injury caused by us. See also the separate Disclaimer.

13. Intellectual property and licence to use

The Service and its contents — including the software, design, text, the StarMatch name and logo, interface and the curated astrological and editorial copy — are owned by the Operator or used under licence, and are protected by intellectual-property law.

For as long as your account exists, and provided you comply with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Service for your own private, non-commercial purposes. This licence does not transfer any ownership to you.

You may not copy, distribute, publicly share, modify, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit the Service or its contents beyond what these Terms allow or the law permits, without our prior written consent.

14. Your content

The Content you provide remains yours. We do not claim ownership of your Profiles or of the messages you send to the Oracle.

Most of your astrology data stays in your own browser. Profiles are stored only in your browser's local storage and are not sent to our servers on their own; they leave your device only when you actively consult the Oracle, which sends the context to Google's AI to generate a reply. The only data we store on our servers is your account, and — if and only if you opt in — the Oracle's long-term memory. This is explained fully in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the Content you provide, including ensuring you are entitled to enter another person's data into a Profile. You grant us the limited permission needed to process your Content solely to operate the Service for you (for example, to compute a chart or relay your question to the Oracle).

15. Availability, beta nature and changes to the Service

We aim to keep the Service available and working, but because it is offered largely free of charge and is still evolving, we provide it "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular feature will always be present. We may carry out maintenance, and may change, add, suspend or discontinue features.

Nothing in this section excludes or limits the statutory rights that Consumers have regarding the conformity of digital content and digital services under the Polish Consumer Rights Act (ustawa o prawach konsumenta), or any other rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law. If the Service does not conform to what these Terms promise, Consumers may exercise those statutory rights, including by making a complaint (see "Complaints").

16. Limitation of liability

We are liable to you on the terms set out in law. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for matters outside our reasonable control, and — given the Service's entertainment character — for decisions you make based on readings or Oracle answers.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. In particular, for Consumers we do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by us, for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or any other liability that mandatory law (including consumer-protection and civil law) does not allow us to exclude or limit. The entertainment disclaimer in these Terms describes the nature of the Service; it does not remove these statutory protections.

17. Complaints (reklamacje)

If something about the Service does not work as it should, or you are otherwise dissatisfied, you can make a complaint.

Please send complaints by e-mail to kontakt@starmatch.pl. To help us handle it, describe the problem, when it occurred, your username if relevant, and what you expect. You may make a complaint in Polish or English.

We will consider your complaint and reply within 14 days of receiving it, on a durable medium (for example by e-mail). If we do not reply within that 14-day period, your complaint is deemed accepted. Making a complaint does not affect your right to pursue other remedies, including those described in the next section.

18. Out-of-court dispute resolution

If a complaint is not resolved, a Consumer may use out-of-court methods of resolving consumer disputes (pozasądowe rozwiązywanie sporów konsumenckich) in Poland. These include:

  • a powiatowy (miejski) rzecznik konsumentów — a district/municipal consumer ombudsman, who provides free advice and assistance to consumers;
  • the Trade Inspection (Wojewódzki Inspektorat Inspekcji Handlowej), which conducts consumer mediation and conciliation proceedings;
  • the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), whose website (https://uokik.gov.pl) lists the competent entities and explains the procedures.

The Operator does not undertake in advance a general commitment to use out-of-court consumer dispute resolution; in each individual case, where a complaint has not been resolved, the Operator will declare on a durable medium whether it agrees to participate in such proceedings, or refuses to take part.

Use of these methods is voluntary and requires the agreement of both sides. Please note: the European Commission's online dispute resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued in 2025 and is no longer available, so we do not provide a link to it. A Consumer may also bring a dispute before the competent court.

19. Right of withdrawal and ending the agreement

The agreement for use of the Service is concluded for an indefinite period and is free of charge (the optional paid unlocks described below are separate, one-time purchases).

You may end it at any time, without giving a reason and at no cost, simply by stopping use of the Service and asking us to close your account by e-mail to kontakt@starmatch.pl. Closing your account ends the agreement.

If you are a Consumer concluding the agreement at a distance, you also have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days. Because the Service is free, withdrawal carries no payment or charge for you; in practice you exercise it the same way — by ceasing use and requesting account closure, or by sending us a clear statement of withdrawal to kontakt@starmatch.pl. We may also end the agreement for important reasons (for example a serious breach of these Terms, or discontinuation of the Service) with reasonable prior notice where practicable; this does not affect a Consumer's mandatory rights.

Paid digital content — the one-time unlocks. The one-time unlocks offered in the Service — the full-application unlock and the Astral Oracle add-on — are paid digital content supplied without a tangible medium. As a Consumer you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. However, you can ask us to begin performance — that is, to give you access — immediately, before that period ends. If, at checkout, you expressly (a) request that performance begin immediately and (b) acknowledge that you will thereby lose your right of withdrawal, then once we grant access you lose the 14-day right to withdraw from that purchase (Article 38(1)(13) of the Polish Consumer Rights Act). We confirm your consent and this acknowledgment to you on a durable medium (for example, the e-mail confirmation or receipt of your purchase). If you do not give that consent at checkout, your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies in the ordinary way, and you may withdraw by sending a clear statement to kontakt@starmatch.pl; we will then refund your payment. None of this affects your statutory rights if the paid feature does not conform to the contract (see "Complaints").

20. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms for valid reasons, such as changes in the law, changes to how the Service works, new features, security needs, or correcting errors.

If we make a material change, we will publish the updated Terms with a new "last updated" date and, where reasonably possible, let registered users know in advance (for example in the app or by the contact channel we have). The change will not take effect for you before you have had a reasonable opportunity to review it. If you do not accept a change, you may end the agreement and stop using the Service before it takes effect; continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. Changes do not apply retroactively.

21. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any agreement between you and the Operator are governed by Polish law, and disputes may be brought before the courts competent under Polish law.

If you are a Consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you habitually reside that cannot be derogated from by agreement; and you keep any right under that law to bring proceedings in, and to rely on the protection of, the courts of your country of habitual residence. Nothing here limits a Consumer's mandatory rights or the jurisdiction the law grants them.

The Service is operated from Poland (the European Union) and offered to users worldwide. Where the Service involves transferring data outside the European Economic Area (for example to Google for AI inference), we apply appropriate safeguards as described in the Privacy Policy.

22. Final provisions and contact

These Terms are the whole agreement between you and the Operator regarding use of the Service, alongside our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Disclaimer, which are incorporated by reference.

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force. We may not transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms in a way that reduces your guarantees as a Consumer without your consent. StarMatch is a first-party content service; it is not a hosting platform or intermediary that stores and disseminates third-party content to the public.

For any questions about these Terms or the Service, contact us at kontakt@starmatch.pl; for data-protection matters, write to privacy@starmatch.pl.

These Terms are effective from 2026-06-23.
